BOBBY DAVRO |
Comedian, actor & impressionist, Bobby made his TV debut in 1981 but his major breakthrough came with an appearance at Live At Her Majesty's in 1983. This led to his own Saturday night series Bobby Davro On the Box, Bobby's Sketch Pad & TV Weekly which immediately topped the ratings for six consecutive years.
In 1991 Bobby moved to the BBC & made a further three series; Public Enemy Number One, Rock With Laughter & Run the Risk. Another move came in 1997 where he hosted 65 episodes of Winner Takes All for Yorkshire Television.
During his career he recorded the chart-topping hit by The Proclaimers, I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles) for Comic Relief with Peter Kay. He was also a major character in EastEnders for just over a year playing the lovable rogue Vinnie Monks - Shirley Carters love interest!
Bobby has also appeared in numerous shows including Ant & Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway & Come Dine With Me where Dane Bowers pipped him to the post of winning the charity prize.
In January 2010, Bobby made his first & only competitive appearance in the hugely popular Dancing on Ice show where he lost out in the dance-off against Gary Lucy.
Versatility is the key to Bobby's longevity as a high profile personality. Be it in television, voice-overs, pantomime, summer shows, corporate entertainment, award presentations, golf shows & late night cabaret.
Bobby lives in Surrey with his three daughters Brittany, Tierney & Marnie. In his rarer moments away from the world of show business, Bobby likes nothing more than a game of golf, a game of snooker, a spot of fishing or a glass of Chardonnay in front of the telly!
