DAVID KENDALL

David Kendall is York born & bred, a distinction he shares with Dame Judi Dench, Frankie Howerd & Guy Fawkes.

From 1950-55 he was a chorister in York Minster & for the next 5 years attended St. Peter's School.

Upon leaving school, David worked in a Chartered Accountants office & then in the Sales Department of the chocolate company, Rowntrees. During this 5 year period, he played piano & guitar in a dance band & then a cabaret group.

In 1965, he joined Barclays Bank & prior to his early retirement in 1990, was the manager of the York University branch for 5 years. He is well known on the after dinner speaking circuit as "the Bank Manager from York".

His hobbies include music (both playing & listening) the theatre, cricket & both codes of Rugby football.

David is an Associate of the Chartered Institute of Bankers.
