| Meera Syal is the star of Beautiful People & The Kumars at No. 42. She made her name on the sketch show Goodness Gracious Me & as author of Anita & Me and Life Isn't All Ha Ha Hee Hee. |
| As well as appearing in feature films such as Sammi & Rosie Get Laid, Meera wrote the screenplay for the critically acclaimed Bhaji on the Beach & My Sister Wife, in which she also starred. |
| Meera's TV credits include; Band of Gold, Absolutely Fabulous & Drop the Dead Donkey. She has hosted The Travel Show, appeared on Have I Got News For You & traced her Punjabi roots in Who Do You Think You Are? |
