Nigel Rees is probably best-known as deviser & presenter of Radio 4's long running Quote...Unquote programme & for his many guest appearances on Channel 4's Countdown.

As the author of more than 30 books, his special interest lies in the popular use of the English language & especially the humour that derives from it. His broadcasting career has ranged from presenting Radio 4's Today programme & reporting for News at Ten to acting in comedy shows, including Harry Enfield & Chums.

Nigel's latest reference works are the Guinness Book of Humorous Anecdotes, the Guinness Dictionary of Jokes, Brewer's Quotations & As We Say in Our House, a book of family sayings. Total sales of his books, including the best selling Graffiti series exceed five million.

As an after dinner speaker, Nigel is much in demand. His personal brand of wit & word-play has attracted plaudits from mainly corporate & institutional clients at over 700 engagements at home & abroad.

He is also established as a presenter at functions & conferences. As guest speaker & lecturer, his subjects include Quoting & Unquoting, Good Manners & The Pros & Cons of Politically Correct Language. He also gives photographic lectures on Epitaphs & Graffiti. His experience as a radio & TV quizmaster has resulted in many invitations to play this role at corporate & private functions. Mostly on the festival circuit, he also presents a one-man show of autobiographical anecdotes & impressions with the title Portable Soup.
