CANON ROGER ROYLE |
| Reverend Canon Roger Royle was ordained in the Church of England in 1962 & served his first curacy at St. Mary's, Portsea, Portsmouth. During his career he served as Conduct & Senior Chaplain of Eton College but in 1979 his ministry took a total change, seeing him leave Eton & become a non-stipendiary curate in the Diocese of Southwark. He also began working as the promoter of a preventative medicine campaign for Save the Children. |
| Roger's career in media is both varied & busy. He has presented his own television series, Royle Progress for Southern Television & The Royle Line for Ulster Television. He's also been a regular presenter of Songs of Praise on BBC 1 & had a network slot on a show transmitted by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. |
| As well as Radio 2's Sunday Half Hour, Roger regularly contributed to Pause for Thought on Wake Up to Wogan on BBC Radio 2. He has also presented Good Morning Sunday & A Royle Tour. Roger also writes a regular column for Woman's Weekly & has written a number of books: A Few Blocks from Broadway, Royle Exchange, To Have & To Hold, Picking Up the Pieces & a book on Mother Teresa. |
| In 1990 he was honoured by the Archbishop of Canterbury with a Lambeth Degree in recognition for his work in the media. Roger is also Honorary Canon to Southwark Cathedral. |
