Jimmy Carr is probably best known for presenting 8 Out of 10 Cats and is one of the most original and distinctive stars on television, radio and stage. Jimmy has enjoyed several hugely successful years; this year being no exception.

His tour, Gagging Order saw him play over 250 dates around the UK and Ireland. Often referred to as ‘the hardest working man in comedy’, Jimmy has so far performed his stand-up tour shows to over 1.5 million people in the UK with his next tour,  Funny Business launching in April 2014.

To date, Jimmy has seven live DVD releases to his name (Live, Stand Up, Comedian, In Concert, Telling Jokes and Making People Laugh, Being Funny) selling over 1.2 million copies. His present tour show Gagging Order was filmed for DVD at the Hammersmith Apollo and is due for release in November 2013.

On top of his mammoth touring schedule Jimmy has been the host of Channel 4’s 8 Out of 10 Cats for an amazing fifteen series and the show’s special spin off 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown for three series. In April 2013, Jimmy joined forces with David Mitchell, Charlie Brooker and Lauren Laverne once again to host the third series of 10 O’Clock Live for C4. On top of this he’s hosted Channel 4’s annual Big Fat Quiz Of the Year since 2004 and also recently completed hosting a series of Big Fat Quiz specials looking back over the 80s, 90s and 00s.

Jimmy has performed twice in front of His Royal Highness the Prince of Wales as part of the Royal Variety Performance and other recent television appearances include The Graham Norton ShowHave I Got News for You and QI.

A household name in the UK, Jimmy is also a rising star in the US, where his profile continues to grow. Jimmy has performed two Comedy Central Specials and in May 2011 appeared on NBC’s Late Night with Conan O’Brien – his fifth appearance to date. Jimmy’s game show Distraction aired on Comedy Central and was subsequently repeated. He has also appeared four times on NBC’s flagship programme The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. In March 2012, Jimmy performed in The Secret Policeman’s Ball at Radio City Hall in New York, transmitted live in the US on EPIX and again in the UK on Channel 4. Jimmy will also perform at the Montreal Just for Laughs Comedy Festival for the ninth time in July 2013.

With conventional media conquered, Jimmy is also a pioneer of digital comedy, topping the album charts on iTunes and with a Twitter following of over 3 million. He was the first major comedian to perform within the online world of Second Life, and the results can be seen as an extra on the Comedian DVD.  In 2009, Jimmy recorded a series of podcasts, entitled The Writers’ Room, in which he and his favourite writer friends chat about the latest news and events, exchanging anecdotes and quips, offering an insight into how comedy material can develop within a writing environment. The podcast proved a smash hit, shooting straight to the top of the iTunes download chart. In November 2011 Jimmy and fellow comedian Frankie Boyle were recorded in conversation at the flagship Apple Store on Regent Street, with the discussion being released as a podcast via iTunes.
