Brian Turner is one of Britain’s most successful & well-known chefs. In addition to running highly respected restaurants in the UK, he has become a successful television personality, appearing regularly on Ready Steady Cook, This Morning, Saturday Cooks & Saturday Kitchen.

After training at some of the most prestigious hotels & restaurants in Europe including Simpson’s in the Strand & The Savoy Grill, Brian went to the Beau Rivage Palace in Lausanne, returning to England to work at Claridge’s & then the Capital Hotel where he & Richard Shepherd earned a prized Michelin star.

During his period at the Capital, Brian was responsible for the launch of the Greenhouse Restaurant & the Metro Wine Bar, becoming Executive Chef of both.  Amongst the many well-known chefs who worked with Brian at the Capital were Gary Rhodes & Shaun Hill who now have their own Michelin starred restaurants.

In 1986 Brian opened his own restaurant Turner’s in Knightsbridge which set new standards for the British chef-owned restaurants – attracting a blend of local & international regulars.  In 2001 whilst Turner’s was at its’ height Brian took another momentous career step & sold it.

In February 2002, Brian Turner’s Restaurant opened at The Crowne Plaza Hotel in Birmingham’s NEC, in association with the Aramark Contract Catering Company.  This was set up as a three year Contract.

In April 2003 Brian launched Brian Turner Mayfair at the Millennium Hotel, London Mayfair.  The restaurant served modern British food within a relaxed & comfortable environment.  This closed after a five year Contract.

January 2005 saw the launch of Turner’s Grill at The Copthorne Hotel Slough-Windsor, a 36-seater restaurant serving simple, honest food.  In July 2006 Turner’s Grill at the Birmingham Copthorne Hotel opened a 50-seater restaurant.  Along with Mayfair, these have now closed after Brian finished working with the hotel group to concentrate on other commitments.

Brian’s current working life allows him to present himself on various fronts; restaurants, food festivals/events around the country & abroad, consultancy & the media.

Despite his hectic schedule, Brian still manages to be heavily committed to various charities.

On 15th June 2002 in the Queen’s Birthday Honours, Brian was awarded a CBE for his services to tourism & training in the catering industry, making a visit to the Palace to receive his gong!
