Mike Cowan is a former Cricketer playing for both Yorkshire and England.

He posses a most unique gift. He has the natural ability when speaking to people of keeping them entertained in an interesting and amusing manner.

This is the reason why he is in demand for Conferences, Sporting Dinners, Company Hospitality Days, Charity Evenings and Round Table or Rotary Charter Evenings. Yes! Even Ladies luncheon clubs!

Why is he is demand? Because he has the rare talent of combining his life and background into anecdotes of splendid Northern humour.

He was born of an Irish father in the rugged mining area of South Yorkshire, an area noted for it’s own special brand of humour. His early experiences are a delight to listen to.

For nine years he was a fast bowler with the Yorkshire County Cricket Club sharing the opening attack with the legendary Fred Trueman. He toured Pakistan with the MCC and has done commentary work for Yorkshire Television.

Since leaving professional sport, Mike has been involved in the world of selling. He has just retired from Penguin Books, where he was responsible for the sales in the North of England, speaking at conferences on behalf of the company.

His sporting and commercial experience has led him to be invited to many Company functions to speak on two important factors in today’s competitive world – teamwork and motivation.

Combining all these related facts from his unique and varied career lends itself to one of the most amusing and entertaining speeches you will ever have the pleasure to hear.
