Rob is England’s most-capped Fly Half, making 70 appearances for England & scoring 396 points. He is currently the holder of the English record for the number of points scored in one game (30 points versus Canada) & the highest point scorer in English history.
A graduate of Cambridge University, Rob became an Associate Director of DTZ Debenham Thorpe heading up a team of investment surveyors specialising in commercial property in London, Europe, the Middle & Far East.
In October 1995, Rob was appointed Director of Rugby at Newcastle Rugby Football Club, a position in which he was able to merge his business skills as a manager with his sporting expertise as a team player. Rob had lead Newcastle to their first Premiership title by 1998.
At the end of 1999, he was appointed by the RFU to head up a task force for the restructuring of the game in England. He delivered a blueprint with the same unerring force & accuracy he once displayed on the field of play.
As a highly articulate & amusing ambassador for both areas of endeavour, Rob shares with his audience some of the secrets he brought to the fore in creating the English Rugby Union team which secured two successive Grand Slam victories in 1991, 1992 & a third in 1995.
